Healthy Back Yoga
This gentle healthy back yoga is performed with awareness, focusing on movement, stretching, breathing and relaxation.
Most back pain comes from the working parts of the back -the muscles, ligaments and small joints. Lack of movement, poor posture and thinking can contribute to the development of back or neck pain. This can result in muscle imbalances and stiffness.
Movement and stretching can release muscular tightness creating the possibility to get your back moving more comfortably. Conscious breathing and relaxation can help release deeply held tension and lower stress levels.
As you stretch out tight muscles you change postural habits allowing greater mobility, flexibility and better joint alignment.
There are many benefits to this type of practice; including more comfort and strength in the body along with increased energy levels.
This class is an ideal introductory to yoga for beginners and for those with a focus on lower-back and neck health.
